For The Love of Technology

I know, I know. I launch a new website for my kniting designs, make one blog post and then nothing. I think I have mentioned before that I work outside the home as an IT Project Manager, which takes up some of my time. Being mommy takes up the rest. I have set my goal of one blog post to my site a week. So far I have not met thar goal.

I was all geared up this weekend to write a post and finish typing up the pattern for a new design. I opened my laptop to find that at somepoint in the last three weeks my lcd screen was destroyed making my laptop unusable! Lots of anger and frustration occurred over the weekend.

Fortunately, being in the IT field, I know it can be fixed. I found a replacement lcd screen, I just have to order it. The installation is the easy part. Waiting, not so much. To pass that time I’ve set up my ipad to do blog posts and content editing.

Oh yeah, I’ve also been knitting! I have two new designs that I am in the process of knitting. One is a 1920’s inspired cardigan and the other is a pair of fingerless mitts to match the cowl pattern I am typing up. I can’t share photos of those at this time. But I can share photos of my Find Your Fade Shawl that I am currently knitting. Enjoy!

The yarn for this project is:

Madelinetosh sock in Havana, Glass Bottom Boat, and Nassua Blue.

Manos Del Uruguay Alegria Sock in Tahiti.

Malabrigo Sock in Aniversario.

Pattern: Find Your Fade by Andrea Mowry

Find it at Drea Renee Knits on Ravelry!

The new designer in town

I decided it was time to create a website and blog to go along with my pattern design hobby. Even though my passion for knitting is a lifestyle, I still classify it as a hobby at this time because I work outside the home as an IT Project Manager. My goal for this site is to chronicle my journey into pattern design with the blog and share my designs. At this time I have 4 patterns available in my pattern shop on Ravelry. I have several designs in the works at this time and one design that just needs to have the pattern typed up and test knitted. I’m very excited to be on this journey and look forward to sharing my designs with everyone.
